The 51²è¹Ýapp has established an international reputation for the quality of its teaching and research. Our academic teams are involved in research at the leading edge of their disciplines, from developing new antibiotics and more effective cancer treatments, to tackling the digital divide and preserving historical artefacts. This research is changing the world and its quality and relevance is recognised nationally and internationally. More than three quarters of 51²è¹Ýapp’s research was judged to be internationally excellent or world-leading in the Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2021 - the most recent major assessment of research standards across UK universities.

Over the past two decades, the University has invested around £400 million in its Brayford Pool Campus, with further plans to invest in additional facilities and refurbishments of existing buildings. Much of this has only been made possible by donors who were determined to ensure that we can provide the best learning environment for our students.
